PORTLAND -- A dog rescued from the streets of Taiwan and brought to Portland is now missing, according to his foster family.
Golden retriever "ChiChi" was brought to the United States just last weekend on behalf of Golden Bond Rescue of Oregon, according to spokeswoman Jill Groves.
He hadn't even been adopted yet when he jumped the fence at a foster home on Southwest 37th Avenue.
"He escaped his unfamiliar, temporary home and is on a panicked run," Groves said. "He is unimaginably frightened, in completely strange and terrifying surroundings, and has no emotional connection to anyone here."
ChiChi went missing from the home near Gabriel Park on Sunday and was last spotted Tuesday morning at West Burnside and Northwest 21st Avenue.
He should be wearing identification tags and he has a microchip.
Anyone who sees him is asked not to approach him, but instead to call (503) 421-2750 or (503) 314-0776 immediately.
