CAMAS, Wash – Wildlife officials near Camas have captured a bear that had been spotted by many neighbors of Lacamas Park over the past few days.
Sgt. Jeff Wickersham with WA State Fish and Wildlife said the bear was tranquilized and brought to an undisclosed location.
Residents east of Lacamas Park had seen it running through their backyard and called officials Friday.
It was captured near NW 29th Circle.
"We see a lot of deer," said neighbor Shane O'Neill. "But not a bear."
Wickersham said the young bear weighed around 60 pounds.
"It was really weird having a bear in my neighbor's backyard," said Ian O'Neill.
