Just how filthy rich are the richest Americans? Well, many of them could buy entire cities. That kind of puts your $250,000 mortgage into perspective.

Bill Gates, the wealthiest person in the world, could buy every single home in Boston, according to a report from the real estate site Redfin.

Gates, who is worth $77.5 billion, could buy all of Boston’s 114,212 homes. The next richest person, Warren Buffett, with his $63.5 billion, could purchase Charlotte, North Carolina.

Michael Bloomberg could afford Anaheim, California, which costs just shy of $30 billion. And Nike’s Phil Knight will have to settle for Falls Church, Virginia, which would put him out a paltry $18 billion.

No single person could afford to purchase Portland, which costs around $91 billion for its 289,133 homes. But the Walton Family, which owns Wal-Mart, could pool their piggy banks and buy up the Rose City.

They’re worth a combined $154.8 billion.
