Social network Twitter is using its upcoming 8th birthday to help users discover their first tweets.

Twitter launched a website called first-tweets.com, allowing users to search their own account or other accounts to find their first tweet.

Users are also encouraged to use the hashtag #FirstTweet.

"Millions of prolific tweeters have made Twitter an exciting, fun and powerful place to connect with others," says Gabriel Stricker, Twitter's vice president of marketing and communications. "But each of you had to start somewhere."

The first tweet ever was, not surprisingly, by Twitter's co-founder. Jack Dorsey, on March 21, 2006, tweeted:  "Just setting up my twtr."

Find yours at www.first-tweets.com.

Here are some #FirstTweets from our KGW team and other notable local and national accounts.

Barack Obama has the most followers of any political figure.

Ellen DeGeneres is the top media personality on Twitter in terms of followers. Here's her first tweet.

And how about the #FirstTweet by the three most-followed people on Twitter?
