SALEM, Ore. -- The Oregon Parks and Recreation Department announced this week that “a complete software overhaul” would shut down reservations from March 31 through April 14.

The software upgrade was coordinated between the state and its reservations contractor, Active Network, which was updating its online reservation functions and computer systems for each of Oregon’s state parks that reserve camping areas or cabins, according to a letter from the state to season pass holders.

No reservations would be accepted, canceled or changed at any park for the two-week period from 5 p.m. on Wednesday, March 31, through 8 a.m. on Wednesday, April 14,  Oregon Parks & Recreation Department Manager Sheri Miller said.

Anyone who foresaw a problem  or who needed to cancel reservations beforehand was asked to call (800) 452-5687 or e-mail Parks & Recreation at oprd.reservation@state.or.us.
