SEATTLE – It started out as an April Fool’s Day joke – a personal lubricant that smells like bacon.

The Seattle company behind “Bacon Salt” and “Baconnaise” aren’t joking about it anymore.

J&D’s has created “Baconlube,” what they tout as the world’s first bacon-flavored personal lubricant and massage oil.

The creators say they never intended this to be a real product. Here’s a posting on their baconlube website:

“Before you start giving meat-flavored massages, we have one small admission to make - baconlube began as an elaborate April Fool's prank and was never intended to be a real product. But when the joke ended, the emails kept coming. People harassed us via email, in public and in highly inappropriate ways (thanks for that). The waiting list grew to over 3,000 people. Expectations were built.”

A tube of lube will cost you $11.99, while a “Sizzling Six Pack” goes for $59.99. You can order it online at J&D’s website.
