PORTLAND – A map released by Yelp shows that Portland hipsters love the neighborhoods of Hawthorne, lower Burnside and Old Town.
Yelp mapped hipster populations in 13 cities across the North America, including Seattle, San Francisco and New York.
The “heat maps” show big red blotches where Yelpers use the word “hipster” most often to describe certain locations.
According to the map, the largest concentrations of Portland hipsters are in the Pearl District, Old Town/Chinatown, lower Burnside, Hawthorne, Alberta and Mississippi.
There were few to no hipsters in Sellwood, St. Johns and Irvington.
