PORTLAND, Ore. -- The Oregon Zoo summer concert series closes Wednesday night as Cyndi Lauper takes the stage as part of her national Memphis Blues tour.
In June, she released her 11th studio album, Memphis Blues, a collection of blues covers featuring appearances by Allen Toussaint, B.B. King, and Johnny Lang among others.
Lauper's first big hit was "Girls Just Want to Have Fun" in 1984.
Blues-harp legend Charlie Musselwhite will open for Lauper.
Tickets are $27 each and can be bought at the zoo or any Ticketmaster outlet, online at Ticketmaster.com and by phone at 800-745-3000.
In 1979, the zoo became the first zoo in the nation to host a summer concert series and it's one of the longest running concert series in the region.
