PORTLAND -- Portland's Christmas tree is set to arrive in Pioneer Courthouse Square Friday at noon.

The tree comes from Gaston, Ore. and it was donated by Stimson Lumber Company.  It stands 75-feet tall and will be paraded along Southwest 6th Avenue before reaching its destination at Portland's living room.

Russ Lewis and Brenda Braxton will be in The Square the night after Thanksgiving to light the huge Douglas fir. This will include a sing-a-long with Thomas Lauderdale and members of Pink Martini and friends, along with carolers and many free treats.

People who don't want to brave the cold to see the tree-lighting in person can watch it live, on KGW NewsChannel 8 during the 6  p.m. news.
