PORTLAND -- Following the loss of its account with Target, Portland ad agency Wieden + Kennedy has cut some of its staff.
"Yesterday, we sadly parted ways with a number of valued employees from a variety of disciplines within the agency," said company spokesperson Joani Wardwell. "As a result of the loss of the Target account we are making some adjustments to our staffing that reflect the loss in revenue."
Wardwell didn't specify how many jobs at W + K were cut.
The news of the split was reported by Ad Age, who said that a change in marketing leadership at Target may have been a factor.
"It's safe to say there's not a single factor we would point to," Target spokesperson Katie Boylan said in the Ad Age report. "At this point in time, we're focused on trying to innovate and tell the Target story in the most creative way possible."
