SALEM – The Northwest Trail Alliance has offered a $500 reward for the recovery of a stolen trail cutter and the arrest of those responsible.

The machine worth $80,000 was stolen from an enclosed maintenance compound at a state park in northwest Washington County.

Oregon State Police said the machine and the trailer it’s transported in were taken from L.L. "Stub" Stewart State Park sometime between 4:30 p.m., Tuesday and 7 a.m., Wednesday.

The 18-foot trailer says “Northwest Trail Alliance” on both sides and has the following license plate: U449427.

Along with the trail digger, the trailer contained various tools and accessories.

The trail cutter is one of only six in the world and volunteers raised the money to purchase it in Oregon.
