PORTLAND, Ore. -- Every seat was filled at the Aladdin Theater in Portland Thursday night as a who's who of Portland's music scene donated their time and talent to raise money for Haiti relief efforts.
Organizers of "Songs for Haiti" hoped to raise $25,000 from the event. Instead, they raised nearly $150,000, with 100 percent of the proceeds going toward the Mercy Corps relief efforts in Haiti.

Among the performers were Thomas Lauderdale of Pink Martini and Storm Large. Oregonian columnist Margie Boule emceed the event, and KGW's own Chief Meteorologist Matt Zaffino also sang as part of the Portland Flash Choir.
For the finale, all the choirs joined together for a performance of "Amazing Grace."
"Portland is such a progressive place and so involved," said Lauderdale. "It just made sense to be involved."
All 600 seats were filled for the sold-out event.
