HUBBARD, Ore. – A Hubbard man convicted on nine counts of the sexual abuse of a child has been sentenced to 42 years in prison.
Stephen Reed Risch, 57, was sentenced Thursday afternoon in Marion County Circuit Court on nine Measure 11 counts of rape, sodomy and sex abuse.
Risch’s victim was reportedly between the ages of nine and 11 when the incidents occurred. Risch was the owner of Jerky Hut Inc., in Hubbard, where some of the criminal acts allegedly occurred on company property.
The investigation revealed evidence of other possible victims, but no criminal charges were filed related to the additional allegations.
Risch was arrested at his Hubbard home in 2008, after a three-month investigation, and lodged at the Marion County Correctional Facility.
He was later indicted on all nine counts soon afterward, but was granted a new trial in October, 2009, due to a procedural error during his trial.
He remained in custody throughout the retrial process.
He was found guilty again on February 18.
