TILLAMOOK, Ore. — Changes in packaging operations at the Tillamook Cheese Factory have cost 47 workers their jobs, according to a report in The Oregonian.
The paper said the workers received a severance plan and job-placement help.
The Oregonian reports that the Tillamook County Creamery Association announced its decision to cut the packaging operation last month, saying it was inefficient because it required cheese to be shipped from Boardman to Idaho and back to Tillamook.
