HILLSBORO, Ore. -- Eight people were hurt Monday after a semi-truck driver ran a stop sign and collided with a MAX train in Hillsboro, according to investigators.
The crash happened near the intersection of 10th Street and Washington in Hillsboro.
Witnesses said an eastbound Blue Line MAX train collided with a semi-truck that was hauling cars. Zach Carver, a KGW employee who happened to be on the MAX commuting to work said the train was not moving very fast at the time of the crash.
"I felt the train driver slam on the brakes and then felt a big crunch," Carver said. He was not hurt, and snapped photos at the scene.

In all, officials said eight people were hurt, including the truck driver. One person refused treatment and the others were all taken to a local hospital.
None of their injuries were life-threatening, authorities said.
The truck driver will be cited for failure to obey a traffic control device, police told KGW.
The front windshield of the MAX train cracked but did not shatter. There was also "moderate damage" to the tractor portion of the semi-truck," said Storm Smith, a spokesman for Hillsboro Fire & Rescue.
The accident blocked a small section of SE 10th and Washington Streets and the busy intersection for approximately an hour.
