DALLAS, Ore. (AP) -- Oregon State Police say a single-car crash near Dallas killed  a man and child and hurt four more. Most of them, including a critically injured infant, were not buckled in.

It happened shortly before 5 a.m. on Oregon 22. The vehicle, a Dodge Neon, went onto the shoulder about 200 feet, then rolled about five times when the man driving overcorrected, according to Senior Trooper Roger Reid.

The driver, Jose Ruben Pachecho Medina, 19, of McMinnville, was ejected and declared dead at the scene. Geobanny Esparza, 11, who was sitting in the back seat, was also ejected and died at the scene. Neither were wereaing seat belts. Pacheco Medina did not have a valid driver's license.

A four-month-old, Erick Medina, was in an unbuckled car seat on the left rear seat and was ejected. He was flown by Lifeflight to Legacy Emanuel in critical condition.

Jonathan Esparza, 11, the twin of Geobanny, was taken by ambulance to Salem Hospital, then by Lifeflight to Emanuel with critical injuries.

Brandon Esparza, 14, was also in the back seat unbelted. He was taken by ambulance to West Valley Hospital in Dallas with non-life threatening injuries.

The children's mother, Cuzana Rubio Ruiz, 38, of McMinnville, was in the front passenger seat and belted. She was treated at Salem Hospital for minor injuries and released. Family members said she and Pacheco Medina are parents of the baby.

Police say alcohol may have been a factor. The accident remains under investigation.
