Set your table with autumn's colors

Oranges, browns and rusty reds are the colors of autumn, but this year, berry reds and oranges softened to peach and apricot show up, taking their cues from the fashion runway.

Although it's traditional to seek holiday-theme wares, there's nothing wrong with using the less literal.

Dress the table with decorative accessories or serving pieces that celebrate the all-American holiday, but merge them with other designs for the tabletop that stay in style all year.

With the current economic times, that should leave a good taste in your mouth.
