Special exhibits for Father's Day at Japanese Garden

PORTLAND, Ore. – Dads are the focus of some special events this weekend at Portland’s Japanese Garden.
On June 20 and 21 the June exhibition Parallel Worlds: Art of the Ainu of Hokkaido and Native Americans of the Pacific Northwest will feature woodcarving with Masamichi Nitani, weaving by Lily Hudson, and a Ravenstail weaving demonstration with John Beard, as well as Tlingit storytelling with Ishmael Hope.
The exhibit features art of indigenous people of North America and Japan, with woven robes, masks and other textiles.
The garden will host similar events throughout June.
