Enjoy a catered brunch and take a tour of the Legacy Good Samaritan Breast Health Center. The free event will feature speakers, 15-minute massages and numerous booths covering a variety of breast health topics including: cancer genetics, breast imaging technology, bone density, exercise, cancer research, etc.
Dr. Nathalie Johnson., medical director of Legacy Cancer Services and Breast Health Centers, will discuss new advancements in breast cancer screening, such as Breast Specific Gamma Imaging (BSGI). BSGI is an imaging technique that can aid in breast cancer diagnosis when a mammogram is inconclusive. It is especially useful in early detection and may help prevent the need for a biopsy.
Women will also have the chance to learn how to improve their health and self-awareness through movement. Dr. Barbara Meyer., health educator and movement instructor, will discuss how the mind and body are connected.
The event is free and open to the public.
It is located at Legacy Good Samaritan Breast Health Center in the Good Samaritan Building 2 -- Lower Level at 1040 NW 22nd Avenue in Portland.
Call 503-335-3500 to register.
