SEASIDE, Ore. -- A salmon shark washed up on the northern Oregon coast this week -- the first such carcass in about a year.

An education specialist for the Seaside Aquarium says the shark was just over two feet, which means it was just a baby.
Staff at the Aquarium rescued the shark and put it in a freezer, for possible future educational use.
Last year, dozens of such baby sharks washed up on the northern and central coast.
Tests performed on some of the sharks found in California at the same time turned up traces of a brain virus.
