For those of you who might be wondering about the bright light beaming through your bedroom window during the night here is the culprit. Referred to by scientists as a super moon, it is in perigee, closest point from the earth in its orbit, (an event that only happens every 18 years). The full moon at perigee appears about 14% bigger and 30% brighter than lesser moons that occur on the apogee, furthest point from the earth in its orbit.
