DETROIT (AP) -- Officials at the Motown Museum in Detroit say an important part of its history is about to come home. An 1877 Steinway grand piano that had been used by Motown artists has been restored, thanks to Paul McCartney. The 9-foot Victorian rosewood instrument had fallen into disrepair -- and when McCartney visited the museum last summer, he found the piano wasn't playable. He told museum officials he wanted to help restore it. McCartney made good on his promise and now that the piano has been put back into playing shape, McCartney will play it when it's unveiled next month. The piano will go back into service at a charity event in New York on September 18 before it's sent back to Detroit.
