SAMMY HAGAR PAYS TRIBUTE TO RONNIE MONTROSE
UNDATED (AP) -- Sammy Hagar calls Ronnie Montrose's death "the end of an era." Hagar writes on his website Montrose gave him his first break as a songwriter, as a frontman, as a recording artist and as a touring artist. Hagar says the first Montrose album "still stands as one of the best recordings I have ever been a part of." Hagar says he was looking forward to Montrose reuniting for his birthday bash in October. He says, "It will very hard to think the four of us will never be able to play songs like 'Rock Candy' and 'Bad Motor Scooter' together again." Montrose died Saturday at the age of 64.
