MICHAEL JACKSON'S DOCTOR IS REFUSED BAIL

LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Michael Jackson's doctor will stay in jail. Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Michael Pastor has refused Dr. Conrad Murray's request to be released on bail while he appeals his involuntary manslaughter conviction. Pastor says he believes Murray, who is from Trinidad, is a flight risk who might try to practice medicine in a foreign country. Murray is serving four years in prison for giving Jackson a fatal dose of a powerful anesthetic, although Murray will likely serve half that. His defense attorney says Murray has lost 30 pounds since he was jailed November 7.
