GENE HACKMAN - WILL HE WEAR A HELMET NEXT TIME?

MIAMI (AP) -- Gene Hackman spent some time in a hospital Friday for bumps and bruises after a pickup truck hit him from behind while he was riding a bicycle. It happened in the Florida Keys. A report from the Florida Highway Patrol says Hackman was not wearing a helmet. It sounds like he was lucky because the report says when the pickup hit him, he was thrown onto the grassy shoulder and not into the street. Gene Hackman is 81.
