BEVERLY HILLS, California (AP) -- If the people who did the Golden Globes wanted another heavy dose of abuse when they asked Ricky Gervais to host again, they weren't disappointed. And he wasn't above biting the hand that hired him. During his opening, he joked that the Golden Globes "are just like the Oscars, but without all that esteem." He said the Globes compared to the Oscars are like comparing Kim Kardashian to Kate Middleton: "a bit louder, a bit trashier, a bit drunker and more easily bought." One celebrity didn't take Gervais' joking lying down. When the host mocked Madonna for her hit song "Like a Virgin," she challenged him. She said if Gervais thought she was such a virgin, he should come do something about it. She tacked on the line: "It's been a while since I've kissed a girl." Gervais pretended to run away from Madonna.
