LONDON -- OK! Magazine has apologized after its front cover mentioned Kate Middleton's post-baby weight loss just a day after her son was born, the Mirror reported Wednesday.

The cover story featured an exclusive interview with her physical trainer, and the cover itself quoted him saying, "She's super-fit -- her stomach will shrink straight back."

The cover sparked a social media firestorm, with critics threatening to boycott the magazine. The hashtag #dontbuyok quickly took off.

UK TV personality Katy Hill called on all mothers to join the boycott.

Wednesday a magazine spokeswoman said, "Kate is one of the great beauties of our age and OK! readers love her....We would not dream of being critical of her appearance. If that was misunderstood because of our cover it was not intended."
