PORTLAND -- Grimm fans know the Boogeyman is on the loose this week, but they might not know that KGW’s Brenda Braxton will be reporting on him.

Braxton, in her second appearance on the NBC fantasy police drama, plays a TV news anchor, a role she’s uniquely suited for. Dressed in black and gray, with reams of paperwork to shuffle through first, Braxton arrived on set to find the writer and director still tweaking her lines.

After seven takes the director called it a wrap.

But a few weeks later Braxton was called into the studios of Sonic Media in Northeast Portland to dub in new dialogue.

Working with a local engineer and a director in Los Angeles Braxton recorded new lines that helped fill in story details.

A demure Braxton said she was just as interested in how the episode’s story unfolded as the average viewer.

“I decided not to read the entire script,” Braxton said. “I don't actually know how the episode ends. I wanted to be surprised, so I'll be watching along with the rest of you!”

The brand new episodes of Grimm, “The Legend of El Cucuy,” will premier on Friday at 9 p.m. on Channel 8. Braxton will be in the opening half of the show.
