For many kids growing up in the ‘90s, the NBC TV show “Saved By the Bell” was more than part of a classic Saturday morning routine.

The high-school crew of Kelly, A.C. Slater, Zack, Jessie, Lisa, Screech and Mr. Belding navigated high school, relationships, family issues and mild drug use at Bayside High School from 1989 - 1993.

Now, Lifetime is producing "The Unauthorized Saved by the Bell Story," which sheds light on the show’s stars.

Some, like Elizabeth Berkley, Mario Lopez and Mark-Paul Gosselar, went on to star in movies and TV shows. Others, like Dustin Diamond, had a harder time finding work.

The TV movie premiers September 1st and promises to showcase what really happened behind the scenes of one of TV’s favorite teen shows.
