PORTLAND -- The NBC series "Grimm" was renewed for a fourth season, the network announced Wednesday.
The series is filmed in Portland and inspired by the Grimm Brothers’ fairy tales.
In the middle of its third season, "Grimm" is the number 1 Friday series on ABC, CBS, NBC or Fox so far for adults 18 to 49, said NBC spokesman Scot Chastain.
Overall, the show's average viewership is up 17 percent from last year, he said.
The show has been nominated for two People’s Choice Awards, two Satellite Awards and a Saturn Award. It also received an Emmy nod for outstanding stunt coordination.
"Chicago Fire" and "Chicago P.D." were also renewed Wednesday. NBC had already renewed “The Blacklist,” “Parks and Recreation,” “The Voice,” “Celebrity Apprentice” and “The Biggest Loser.”
The IFC series "Portlandia," also based in and filmed in Portland, began its fourth season last month.
