Oregon Ballet Theater director resigns

PORTLAND - Christopher Stowell, Artistic Director of Oregon Ballet Theatre, resigned his position, citing the adoption of a new business model.

Stowell joined the ballet in 2003 and brought the company into "national renown and international reach," the board of trustees said in a letter Wednesday.

"I am very proud of the work we have accomplished to that end. Now that OBT is entering a new chapter in its history, it is imperative to find the right leader. To our dedicated audiences, I want to say thank you for your support of my work during my time at OBT," Stowell said.
