MILWAUKIE, Ore. -- Chef Pascal Sauton has earned the gold in a culinary competition. Sauton is now “Eater's 3rd Annual Hottest Chef in America.”
Eater had already crowned Pascal tops in Portland. And just before noon Wednesday, he won the national title.
For years, he ran Carafe bistro in downtown Portland before pulling up recently and opening a restaurant in Milwaukie.
Sauton had promised that if he won, he would serve up his famous Pabst Blue Ribbon Tillamook white cheddar soup for free on Friday at his restaurant, Milwaukie Kitchen & Wine.
