PORTLAND -- Like many of her Grimm co-stars, Bitsie Tulloch has found a special place in her heart for Portland.
“There’s so much love I have for this city,” said Tulloch. “The people are friendly, the food is amazing, and there’s no sales tax.”
The actress is especially grateful with the Rose City’s attitude towards four-legged friends. “My dog is up here with me, it’s such a dog friendly city,” Tulloch said with a smile. “I can pretty much take him with me, almost anywhere.”
Tulloch used to call Los Angeles home, but because of Grimm, she now spends most of her time in Oregon. “I’ve been getting out, you know there are a couple of places I haven’t had time to go to that I would love to explore – like Bend and Cannon Beach.”
The 31-year old has been tweeting about her Oregon adventures and posted pictures of a recent day trip to Multnomah Falls, “The last time I did that, I had my dog with me, which was not a good idea – so Henry stayed at home this time.”
Twitter has been an easy way for the actress to stay connected with her fans. They know her best as Grimm’s, Juliette Silverton – Detective Nick Burkhardt’s girl friend in the show.
Last season, Juliette said no to Nick’s marriage proposal. That caused some angry fans to personally lash out at Tulloch. Fans wrote to her saying, “Why would you say no, I would never say no!” They wrote, “How could you do that, how could you hurt him, you made him cry.”
Tulloch was surprised people blamed her. “I mean people were really upset with me, and I was like, it wasn’t me – I wouldn’t have done that.” She described her co-star, David Giuntoli, as "amazing!"
Despite a little bitterness from some fans, it’s been mostly love for the actress, especially here in Portland. In fact, she’s had a lot of nice people come up to her and say hello. And to those fans, Tulloch says thank you,
“We love Portland, we really do – thanks for having us!”
