PORTLAND -- A woman was thrown out of singer Fiona Apple's performance Thursday at the Newmark Theatre for heckling her about her health.
KGW producer Ed Nieto, who was at the concert, said the woman yelled, "Get healthy! We want to see you in 10 years."
Apple then shouted back, "I am healthy. Who do you think you are?"
"It was one of the worst concert experiences I've ever had," Nieto said. "To see an artist so visibly shaken and hurt on stage was just excruciating."
Apple then ordered the heckler to leave and asked that the house lights be turned back on so she could watch the woman's exit.
On the way out, the woman yelled, "I saw you 20 years ago and you were beautiful."
Apple struggled through one more song, apologized and left the stage.
"Up until that point, it was a great performance," Nieto said.
