SUTHERLIN, Ore. -- Crisis counselors will be at Sutherlin High School
this week after the arrest of two 15-year-old female students who are
accused of shooting a 14-year-old schoolmate.
Troy Anderson was found dying from a gunshot wound to his head on
Thursday; on Friday, the two girls were arrested on juvenile murder
charges.
One is a relative of the dead boy and lived with the family.
Investigators from the Douglas County Major Crimes Team said they had
recovered what they think was the murder weapon, as well as money taken
from Anderson's home, in the residence of the second arrested girl.
Superintendent John Lahley and other school officials spent Sunday
arranging for an all-school assembly and a visit from a crisis team.
"We have to be prepared to respond to a whole new set of questions and
concerns from students who knew Troy but the girls as well," he said.
"Staff members need help, too."
