PORTLAND, Ore. -- Oregon has new immunization requirements for preschool, kindergarten, and seventh grade this fall.

Health officials said a Hepatitis A vaccine is now required for entrance into preschool and kindergarten.

Tdap, a combination of tetanus, diphtheria and pertussis vaccines, is required for entrance into seventh grade. This vaccine differs from the shots that most children received as a baby.

Parents were urged to check immunization records to determine if their child needs additional vaccinations.

The Washington County Department of Health and Human Services will also be offering special immunization clinics on the following dates:

• August 28th,

• September 2nd,

• September 3rd, and

• September 4th.

There will be three locations to choose from:

• Hillsboro Clinic at 266 W. Main Street,

• Beaverton Clinic at 12550 S.W. Second Street, and

• Tigard Clinic at 15296 S.W. Royalty Parkway.

To make an appointment for immunizations at any of the clinics, call (503) 846-8851.
