PORTLAND, Ore. -- Administrators and faculty at Portland State University have reached a tentative two-year contract agreement.

The 1,200 professors and academic professionals represented by the PSU chapter of the American Association of University Professors will get an across-the-board salary increase of at least 8.75 percent over the two years of the contract.

The agreement announced Wednesday must be ratified by union members.

The sides had been negotiating for 15 months, and a state mediator got involved in December.
