McMinnville school considers uniforms
08:57 AM PDT on Wednesday, May 14, 2008
McMINNVILLE, Ore. -- A McMinnville elementary school is considering student uniforms as a way to hold down costs for parents.
The brand new Sue Buel Elementary School opens in September.
Many parents already favor the idea of having simple uniforms, such as polo shirts, skirts and pants in two or three colors.
Supporters say it would reduce the cost of clothing and possibly make children worry less about the social impact of having the right outfit.
It's the first time the McMinnville school board has considered uniforms in a decade.
