The oyster is the mollusk of the month at Salty’s on the Columbia River. The popular Portland seafood restaurant is hosting an “Amorous Oyster Celebration” throughout November.

The cooler weather in the Pacific Northwest this time of year makes for ideal oyster eating conditions as local fresh water bays provide chefs with plenty of product to work with.

Salty’s November menu includes Oyster Shooters prepared three different ways:

1) Pepper Vodka Mary

2) I.P.A. beer soaked

3) The Standby (classic version with cocktail sauce, horseradish, and lemon)
