Oregon Blueberries are here... Finally!!!

01:30 PM PDT on Monday, July 14, 2008

By DREW CARNEY, kgw.com Staff

Due to the cooler, damper weather we experienced in late May and early June this year, the 2008 Oregon Blueberry season got off to a delayed start.

Watch Drew Carney's visit to Gingerich Farms in Canby (OR) during the 07/14/08 edition of Newschannel 8 at Sunrise.

It is here now though, and at least one local farm is ready to celebrate the occasion.

Gingerich Farms in Canby has been growing Oregon Big Blues (Oregon-grown Blueberries) for generations. Part of what makes them different from other growers is that they have complete quality control at every stage of the process, from the growing and picking to the packing and shipping.

This week, in honor of the better-late-than-never blueberry season, they are offering customers the opportunity to purchase blueberries at wholesale prices. To take advantage of the deal, you can visit the farm today (Monday, July 14th) through Saturday (July 19th) between 8:00am and 5:00pm.

Gingerich Farms is located at 29995 S. Elisha Road in Canby (OR).

For more information, you can contact the Farm directly by calling (503) 651-3742, or check out their website, www.oregonblueberries.com.
