If you ever wanted to experience the thrill of speeding downhill in a soap box derby racecar on one of the finest soap box derby tracks in the country, that opportunity is available to you this weekend in Salem.
The Salem Soap Box Derby Association is holding an “Open House” for all interested racers and their families, who are invited to come out to the track and check out what soap box derby racing is all about.
The event is scheduled for this Saturday, May 10th from 1:00pm to 4:00pm at Salem’s Box Derby Track in Bush Park (600 Mission St. SE).
Racecars will be available not only for first timers to check out up close, but also to test drive themselves.
You can contact the Salem Soap Box Derby Association directly through their official website, www.salemsbd.org.
