Break out the grass skirts and leis... it's Lu'au time at Pacific University
11:40 AM PDT on Thursday, April 3, 2008
Pacific University’s Annual Hawaii Club Lu’au returns to the college campus in Forest Grove, Oregon on Saturday, April 12th.
The 48th edition of this university tradition features an authentic Hawaiian dinner from 4:30pm to 6pm in the University Center, followed by a show in the Pacific Athletic Center beginning at 6:30pm. Doors to the Athletic Center open at 5:30pm on Saturday night.
The theme of this year’s Lu’au is "Ka Honua Kamaha'o" or "A Wonderful World” and the dinner menu includes Kalua Pig, Teriyaki Chicken, Chicken Long Rice, Haupia, Poi, Coconut Cake, and Lu'au Punch.
The after-dinner entertainment line-up includes hula dancing, Tahitian dancing, and Haka dancing.
In conjunction with the Lu’au the Pacific Athletic Center will be home to a Hawaiian General Store, where you can purchase specialty items flown in directly from the Islands, including fresh pineapples, cookies, chocolate covered macadamia nuts, leis, jams and jellies.
The Hawaiian Country Store is open Saturday from 10am to 4 pm, and again at 5:30pm before the evening show.
For tickets and other information you can contact the University directly at 503-352-2073, or check out the official Pacific University Lu'au webpage.
