Shamrock Run part of St. Patty's Day weekend in Portland

Portland’s 30th Annual Shamrock Run is set for this Sunday, March 16th along the city’s downtown Waterfront.

Watch Drew Carney's early morning sprint as a preview to the Shamrock Run during the 03/13/08 edition of Newschannel 8 at Sunrise.

There’s an event for everyone on Sunday: from a 15k race for the serious runner, to 3.5-mile Shamrock Stride for those interested in more of a Fitness Walk, to a 1k Leprechaun Lap for the kids.

On-site registration opens at 6:30am on Sunday morning, with all events taking place on SW Naito Parkway between SW Oak and Stark Streets.

The Shamrock Run is a fundraiser for Doernbecher Children’s Hospital, with sponsors that include Adidas, Widmer Brothers Brewing, and McCormick & Schmick’s Seafood Restaurants, who will supply complimentary clam chowder to all runners after the race.
