Newschannel 8 Great Food Drive off to another cheesy start

The annual Newschannel 8 Great Food Drive officially began over the weekend on the 1st day of March, and will continue through the end of the month.

Watch Drew Carney "behind the scenes" at the home of Tillamook Cheese during the 03/03/08 edition of Newschannel 8 at Sunrise.

The goal of the yearly benefit for the Oregon Food Bank is to raise 1-million pounds of food while also raising awareness of hunger issues throughout Oregon and Southwest Washington.

Tillamook Cheese is helping the cause by donating one cent to the Great Food Drive for every pound of its cheese that is purchased during March.

Last year, Tillamook's cheese sales resulted in a $16,000 donation to the Great Food Drive.

In addition to purchasing Tillamook Cheese at your local grocery store, you can also donate to the Great Food Drive by dropping off cash or non-perishable food items at our KGW studios or the nearest US Bank location.
