Here is your head's up about possible difficult travel over Cascade passes the weekend before Christmas and Christmas day. For several days, forecast charts have been showing very active weather with strong weather fronts and snow levels mostly below Cascade passes. If true, travelers would battle feet of snow and mandatory chain requirements. The valley would see heavy rain days and the coast would possibly see high winds at times.
There might be an occasional break with snow levels rising to near 5,000 feet. Keep in mind, the forecast could change, but for now, the stormy pattern is a good bet. Please keep updated if your plans call for travel.
