Skiers and snow lovers can rejoice a tthe new snow falling in the Cacsades tonight. But it dries up again Tuesday afternoon. What's up with that? The jet stream is up, too far "up" north to allow storm to hit the Northwest.

But there's hope for a return to stormy weather Saturday and into next week. It's still unclear whether our storms will arrive from the northwest (Cold) or west and southewest (not as cold). But either way, valley rain will should be dripping and snow shoudl be flying in the mountains.
It's still winter, don't let the February sunshine fool you into thinking ski season is over. Along those lines, want to join me and Sheila Hamilton for three days of snow-cat skiing in Brisitsh Columbia in March (my favorite month for skiing, btw)?
If snow, click here! And come to our wine and cheese meet and greet 7 pm on Wednesday February 9 at Next Adventure, 426 SE Grand Ave, Portland, for more information and to sign on.
Happy Trails,
Matt Zaffino
