This weekend's east coast blizzard is one for the record books. Many locations saw record snowfall of 12-16 inches either Friday or Saturday from New York to Maine. The hardest hit of the major cities was Boston. Much of the city saw a 30 inch storm total. Peak wind gust at Boston Logan airport was 69 mph Saturday, and 76 mph Friday! The airport had constant 50 mph or higher wind gusts for more than 8 hours! Good news, in that the Boston forecast does call for sunny skies Sunday with highs above freezing. The following link will take you to a video showing two weather systems merging together to make the blizzard of 2013. You will notice the main low center pushing north out of the south and the Canadian cold front arriving from the northwest, merging with the low that became the nor'easter.
