Current Operations at PDX

For the most part, flights are operating normally. Some minor delays are reported on flights to and from Denver, Minneapolis, and San Jose... but those are unrelated to weather in Portland.

The airport has applied de-icer to the runways and taxiways, and has crews ready to plow if, and when, snow begins.

Ticketing Policies Unchanged

None of the airlines serving PDX has updated its ticket change rules to account for winter weather on Thursday and Friday. If you have a ticket, you're expected to show up. If you want to change your flight, you'll still have to pay the change fee, and the difference in the fare. Airlines will likely wait until there are problems with delays and cancellations at PDX before allowing free changes. But, if you have a flight you're not going to be able to make due to the weather, call the airline before you get to the airport, and ask to be put on a later flight. They're not required to help, but they often will.

For PDX Airport operations... expect snow to begin around 8am... then continue through the day. It appears snow will be most prevalent from about 8am through 1pm. Still expect plenty of showers after 1pm... most likely as snow or a rain/snow mix. East-southeast surface wind will continue through 4pm Friday.
