... to be our guest on "Straight Talk" Saturday night.
While Americans are watching the inaugural festivities in Washington, DC, our local politics is focused on Portland Mayor Sam Adams.
As you've heard by now, Mayor Adams confessed to lying about a relationship he had with a legislative intern in 2005.
Mayor Adams was in DC for the inauguration when he admitted to the lie, and came home early, missing the inaugural, to apologize to the citizens of Portland.
I called the Mayor that night and invited him to be a guest on our current affairs show, to explain what happened, why he lied, and how he will try to regain the trust of Portland citizens.
He agreed. Now, our executive producer, Rich Kurz, and I are working with his staff to schedule a time to tape the show with the Mayor.
So, watch for more information.
And let us know what questions you have for Mayor Adams.
About last week's show on race relations in Oregon, I received some nice comments.
"Thank you for the excellent program. I would like you to do more social justice issues. I would suggest a segment on the Native American community in Portland, and in Oregon.
And Carolyn wrote...
Thank you for the great show tonight. I very much appreciated your interview with Marcus Mundy of the Urban League and Susan Castillo, superintendent of schools in Oregon.
Thank you for writing and let's keep talking.
