These challenging economic times are trying for everyone and especially our local businesses.
People are concerned about their jobs and their pocketbooks, and a lot of us are pulling back on how much we spend.
We've heard a lot about it lately from Washington,D-C and our lawmakers.
As I write this, President Obama is addressing a joint session of Congress.
He says he will lead the country from a "day of reckoning" to a brighter future.
That's something our local businesses are looking forward to.
Because, this recession is giving them the business by taking business away.
This week on "Straight Talk"", we'll hear from the owner of Portland's Powell's Book Store, Michael Powell. Debbie Kitchin from the remodeling firm, Interworks also joins us.
In addition, the state economist, Tom Potiowsky is scheduled to give us insight into the depth of the recession in Oregon, and when we're likely to pull out of it.
Join us for "Straight Talk" Saturday night at 7pm.
